A Holistic Approach to your Wellbeing
The current climate is fast-paced and demanding, leaving little space for rest and restoration. Many of us feel pressure to optimise every moment, equating productivity with worth. Psychologically and physiologically, this comes at a cost. Many of us live largely in our heads - overthinking, analysing, and striving to meet expectations of what we should do - while our bodies carry a different kind of knowledge.
I support people to reconnect with their bodies, inner wisdom, and values, particularly when life feels overwhelming or out of balance. Together, we gently notice patterns that feel stuck and create space for clarity, growth, and more compassionate choices.
My work integrates evidence-based psychological therapy with mind–body practices such as breathwork, yoga, meditation, gut–body awareness, and spirituality, supporting emotional wellbeing and more embodied living.

Mind, Body & Spirit
I believe psychology works best when it honours the whole person - mind, body, and spirit. My role is not to fix you, but to walk alongside you, helping you make sense of your experiences and strengthen the inner resources that support healing and growth.
An example of the clients I work with:
-
Women experiencing burnout and emotional overload
-
Men struggling under pressure, responsibility, or expectations
-
Children and young people overwhelmed by the demands of the education system
I aim to offer a calm, compassionate, and safe therapeutic space, where you feel heard and supported as you move towards greater balance and wellbeing.
Beyond the Therapy Room
Over the past four years, I have been on my own journey of growth, deepening my understanding of myself, my family, and my clinical practice. This period has allowed me to reconnect with the values that guide my work and the practices that sustain me.
Outside of work you will find me walking my dogs, spending time in nature, gardening, practising yoga, travelling and living in tune with the seasons and cycles of the moon. These experiences shape the grounded, intuitive, and integrative way I work. My intention is to support you in cultivating your own sense of alignment, connection, and inner wisdom.

My Approach
Informed by neuroscience, my work emphasises the role of the nervous system in emotional regulation and resilience. Prolonged states of stress and traumatic experiences keep the nervous system activate, which over time can lead to burnout, reduced focus, and a loss of creativity.
Before moving into deeper therapeutic work, we focus on establishing safety and stability through practical tools that support calm, connection, and balance. Like nature, growth unfolds in cycles — rest and renewal are essential for flourishing, and our minds and bodies are no different.
My approach is integrative, compassionate, and holistic. Therapy is tailored to each individual, drawing from evidence-based psychological models. We work collaboratively and at a pace that feels safe, supporting meaningful and sustainable change.
I draw from a wide range of therapeutic models, as outlined below:
ACT
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
Cultivating psychological flexibility by accepting challenges, being present, and aligning actions with personal values.

PCT
Person-Centred Therapy
Supporting self-directed healing through empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing
A trauma-focused therapy supporting the processing of distressing experiences through bilateral stimulation.

CBT
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Understanding and reshaping the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours to create meaningful change

Narrative Therapy
Recognising and reshaping the stories we live by, allowing space for more empowering narratives.
Systemic Therapy
Exploring relational patterns within families, couples, groups, and wider systems to strengthen communication and understanding.

Intensive Therapy
A focused, accelerated therapeutic process aligned with therapy goals when deeper or more rapid progress is needed.
Mindfulness
Developing awareness of the present moment with curiosity and non-judgement.
My Expertise
My clinical background spans across Medical Psychology, Sexual Health, Paediatrics, and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS). Over many years of NHS practice, I have supported children and adults facing complex physical and psychological challenges.
My clinical experience includes working with young people with somatic symptoms and eating disorders, and adults living with long-term health conditions such as diabetes, HIV, cardiac conditions and chronic pain. I have also supported individuals affected by birth trauma and sexual difficulties offering compassionate, non-judgemental care in sensitive, complex areas.
Over time, I have blended my clinical work with a mind–body approach and lived experience, which continues to shape how I work. My professional practice is informed by my personal journey, including stepping away from a demanding NHS role to support my neurodivergent family. This has deepened my understanding of difference, resilience, and family life. I now work closely with parents to help them understand their child’s unique needs, strengthen emotional regulation, and navigate the education system with greater confidence.
My current specialist interest is EMDR therapy for trauma, supporting clients to process difficult experiences at a pace that feels manageable, while building inner resources, resilience, and a stronger sense of self.

Client Stories
Choosing the right therapist is a deeply personal decision, and hearing the experiences of others can offer reassurance, a sense of hope, and a glimpse of what working together can feel like. I feel incredibly honoured to support people through some of the most challenging - often transformative - periods of their lives. Below are a few words from clients who have generously shared their experiences of our work together and the meaningful changes they have been able to create.
I will be forever grateful for her guidance & compassion.
"Working with Dr. Robinson has been truly life-changing. She has consistently shown incredible support and equipped me with practical as well as theoretical skills I can carry forward to reach my goals and care for my mental well-being. Whenever I’ve struggled to put new learnings into practice, she’s patiently offered fresh perspectives and alternative approaches that make the challenges feel more manageable. One highlight of our work together has been exploring Mel Robbins’ “Let Them” theory...a concept I believe everyone could benefit from practising to cultivate a more peaceful life. This past year has been one of the hardest of my life, yet Dr. Robinson has helped me navigate it with strength and clarity. She’s helped me embrace my “queen energy,” especially when addressing generational and cultural challenges, and I will forever be grateful for her guidance and compassion."
Her support and compassion throughout has completely changed my life.
"I’ve been working with Emily for around three years, and the difference our work has made is hard to put into words. She’s helped me process and recover from trauma I never thought I could face, and I now feel calmer, happier, and free from the panic that once controlled me. Her support and compassion throughout has completely changed my life."
With her kindness empathy and the power of EMDR my life has transformed.
"For so long, I carried my childhood trauma like a weight I thought I'd never escape. I tried many different types of therapy in my 20s, but nothing worked until Emily. With her kindness empathy and the power of EMDR my life has transformed. I can share my story without tears, recognise & control my emotions, develop & maintain strong boundaries, and build real, loving relationships. She didn't just help me heal, she helps me rediscovered myself. For the first time I feel like I'm living, not just surviving. Emily is gentle, empathic and grounding, yet she empowers you in ways you didn't think possible. She helped me get my back life back, and I'll be forever grateful"
